Our History
Rotorua Dog Training Club has been an incorporated society since 1974, originally under the name “Rotorua Dog Obedience Club”. From a small group of dedicated individuals meeting at Smallbone Park for many years, the club grew.
We moved to training at Karenga Park in 1991, building our Clubhouse on to of the existing building. Originally focusing on competitive obedience, in 1988 agility was included as a club activity and, more recently, Rally-O and Canine Good Citizen pet dog training.
Now, nearly 50 on years on, we are still evolving. Within the last few years scentwork and tracking have become regular popular club activities.
All Committee members, Instructors and Helpers, volunteer their time, knowledge and experience to benefit our members.
